How to Access Emails using Any Application

There are two ways to access a mailbox to send and receive emails:

  • Set up and use an email client on your computer. Generally, in these programs you should specify the following options: <> Username . In this field you must specify your full email address, such as  johndoe@example.com . Password . Most likely, the password for your email account. Mail server protocol . This property defines whether you want to keep copies of messages on the server or not. To keep the copies on the server, select the IMAP option . If you do not want to keep them on the server otherwise, select  POP3. If you select IMAP, you can also train the SpamAssassin spam filter based on received messages, as long as SpamAssassin is enabled on the server. Incoming mail server  (POP3 / IMAP) . Enter the name of your domain. For example,  example.com . The POP3 port is 110. The IMAP port is 143. Outgoing mail server  (SMTP) . Enter the name of your domain. For example,  example.com . The SMTP port is 25. This server requires authentication. For detailed information about configuring mail clients to use with your mailbox, see the subsections of this section.
  • Use a web browser to connect to the webmail interface. The Webmail interface is provided by the Horde IMP Webmail software, which is installed by default. You can use the Horde IMP Webmail or install the AtMail Webmail Lite software.

Web mail access

Email clients have Webmail or Webmail. Example: TWC Mail

Access to this service is done through any browser by writing the URL in the address bar: http://webmail.SU-DOMINIO.com (change “YOUR-DOMAIN” for the active domain on your website)

REMEMBER that it is ALWAYS more recommended to use any pop3 client (Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Etc) instead of webmail.

Some Helpful Tips:

Do not use the webmail service to store data. The webmail service is oriented to be used in cases of absences for vacations, trips or for momentary checking of emails from remote sites to your usual place of work.

Also, get access to roadrunner email.

If you do not download your received messages to your computer through a POP3 client, they remain on the server taking up space, a situation that can cause blockages in your web space due to lack of space.

The exclusive use as a mail client of WebMail may cause your web space to fill up and block your web page and your e-mail. The space available depends on the Hosting Service Contract.

Setting up an email account is a very simple task that you can do yourself.

Here are some basic manuals to apply the settings in the most popular email clients.

You must take into account the 4 basic data for the configuration :

  1. USER NAME: The one provided by the company
  2. PASSWORD: The one delivered by the company
  3. POP SERVER – Incoming mail server: “your-domain-name”  (server requires authentication)
  4. SMTP SERVER – Outgoing mail server: “your-domain-name”

IMPORTANT NOTE: The email client does not keep a copy of the passwords of the email accounts, so if you lose or forget them we can only offer you the possibility of changing it and never remembering what your password was.
